Spring Chick Challenge

I am going to do this challenge even if I am late starting it.  I figure better late than never.  I am going to make a post after this one with all my goals.  But this is what the challenge is all about.

So here are the focus points for this challenge:
  1. Commit to a NSV (non scale victory) to be assessed at the start and the conclusion of the challenge.
    • For example it could be:
      • losing inches
      • improving your 1mile time
      • fitting into a pair of your used to be favorite jeans.
  2. Commit to a set of nutrition parameters and track via MyFitnessPal or Sparkpeople or WW. Whatever tracking works for you. IF you are on maintenance and do not really track. What nutrition goals do your have?
    • How many calories daily or weekly?
    • How much water will you drink daily?
    • What items, if any, will you limit?
  3. Commit to a set of exercise parameters. These can be as loose or as flexible as you feel work for your personality, schedule, etc.
    • Think variety.
    • Start small and build.
    • Try to incorporate a variety of exercises as to avoid boredom
  4. Commit to blogging at least twice weekly and 1 of those times must be you check in with a complete up date on your progress. All other blogs could include new insights, results of weekly challenges, or just letting others know how you are doing.
  5. Commit to support... both giving and receiving. Check others blogs and comment as you feel motivated to do.
So... you think about the 5 focus points and get ready to SPRING n2 ACTION....

Then.... leave a comment and a link to your blog.  I will have a initial stats post ready by January 1st.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Woo Happy Friday!!!

Happy Friday!!  I am so ready for the weekend.  I am taking Ashton to baseball tryouts on Saturday which means it is almost baseball season!!  I am very much a baseball mom.  I love going to the games and watching my monkey play!  I am really trying to get into blogging more, and I am going to make an effort to blog every night.  We will see how well that works.  I have also been reading every night instead of watching tv and I am really enjoying that.  I honestly think that I am sleeping better because of that.  I started a new book last night called The Wedding Gift and so far I am loving it.

I am working on something new in my life.  I always pick myself apart and never think I am good enough for anyone.  Well that is coming to a screeching hault!  I am a good person and I have got to realise that.  I am never going to be in a good healthy relationship if I don't love myself.  So from now on I am just going to be me and not worry about what anyone else thinks.  No more trying to change myself to fit into someone else's mold!  That being said I am going to work on getting healthy for myself.  I want to live a long and wonderful life and I have to start caring about what I am putting in my body and start being active.  If I lose weight, that will be an added bonus!

I need to think of some ideas to get me up and moving....any suggestions??

Book 1: Foxy's Tale

Taken from Amazon.

Former beauty queen Foxy Anders has fallen on hard times.

Her new tenant, mysterious, bumbling Myron Standlish carries wads of cash and hoards vials of blood.

Her new assistant, Knot Knudsen, loves shoes and conservative politicians, but man can he sell Foxy’s antiques.

Amanda, Foxy’s teenage daughter, thinks they’re all crazy. But, when she hooks up with Nick, a cute guy at school, she’s in for some crazy of her own.

Ultimately, they’re all in for some romance with a dash of suspense and a sprinkle of supernatural. And laughs ... as an added bonus.

My thoughts on the book:
I thought the book was pretty silly. It is not a book to read if you are looking for a serious book. The book was supposed to be about vampires, but it seemed very forced. I really did not like the ending at all, it was very anti-climatic. It was just all over the place and not very well put together.

The 2011 E-book Challenge was hosted by The Ladybug Reads. She has decided not to host it for 2012, and I was the lucky lottery winner who gets to host it. That's right, there was so much interest from people wanting to host it that she had to hold a lottery.

Long time no blog

Happy Playoff Sunday!!!  The Texans are playing the Ravens today at 12 and I really really hope we stomp some ass!!  But no matter what I am proud of them for making it this far.

I have really missed blogging.  I am not even sure why I stopped.  I guess it is because I started working and am so tired when I get home from work.  I have been stuck in bed since Friday!  Guh I had my top left side wisdom tooth removed and it was HORRIBLE!!!  I was awake the entire time because the dentist thought it would only take about 5-10 mins to get the tooth out....well an hour and a half later he was finally finished.  He told me that he would never pull one of my wisdom teeth again...that I would be sent to a specialist next time.  He said that it was the hardest tooth he had ever pulled.

I have been going and entering a lot of blog giveaways.  I really enjoy doing them.  I need to make some more blogging friends so I can maybe help host a give away.  I think that would be a lot of fun.  Ok well I am gonna go and read some more blogs.

GOOOOOO TEXANS!!!!
